You're invited to join the Division for a virtual presentation on the Department of Justice’sHonors ProgramandSummer Law Internship Program (SLIP)positions. During the presentation, DOJ members will discuss tips for applying to Honors Program and SLIP positions and theTax Division generally—which is one of the best-kept secrets in the Department. For example, the Tax Division was thesecond highest ranked organization within the Department of Justice in the 2023 Best Places to Work in the Federal Government Rankings. Our advice is likely to be useful in applying to other DOJ components through the Honors Program, too. Tax courses or experience are NOT required! The Tax Division, primarily located in Washington, D.C., represents the United States in criminal and civil litigation around the country. Tax Division attorneys are immediately assigned cases and given hands-on litigation opportunities that are virtually unmatched in other private or public sector roles. We strive to build a collegial working environment that reflects the diversity of America, and we welcome applications from candidates of every background. We will present four sessions in August, before the SLIP and Honors Program applications are due on Tuesday, September 3. All law students are welcome to attend any of these presentations (and the presentations will all cover the same content). The information for joining each presentation is below. We are happy to provide you with early notice of the Spring 2025 schedule! We hope this will help you to identify any conflicts that may affect how you move forward with the Fall while there is still time to add and drop. We are happy to provide you with early notice of the Spring 2025 schedule! We hope this will help you to identify any conflicts that may affect how you move forward with the Fall while there is still time to add and drop. The full schedule with credits, notes, and descriptions is available on the University’sTerm Master Schedule. You can view the visual grid version of the schedule, as well as the Spring exam schedule, onDragonNet. Please do review all notes. For instance, there are several courses that meet for less time than their credits would suggest (e.g., 4-credit Business Organizations meeting about 3 hours per week) because that time is added to the out-of-class work in the form of problem sets, simulations, and other assignments. In these cases, you will see a note underSection Commentsthat says “Substantial asynchronous work required.” Course registration for Spring 2025 will take place in October, and we will send more detailed information about dates and processes closer to that time.Spring 2025 Schedule
