They need players that are going to dominate the sport, tally individual and team awards — the most valuable players in the game.

It is well known that not every position comes with the same price tag. Forwards tend to be the most expensive players, with some midfielders joining the conversation. The most valuable players in career mode in EA FC 24 are determined by a combination of potential, current rating, age, play styles, and expected longevity. None of them cost less than $100 million, and that price will only continue to rise through the years.

Still, EA FC 24 is largely unchanged barring this name adjustment, featuring the same beloved gameplay long-time fans can't get enough of. While the focus on FUT means that the progress on Career Mode hasn't been all that impactful, that shouldn't take away anything from the fun gameplay of the series. Players who want the best footballers in the world should be aware of their price tag. Sometimes, blowing the entire transfer budget on one player simply isn't feasible, unless that player is really worth it. With that in mind, this list has been updated with a few more players that really are worth their cost.

16 Rodrygo

Value: €86.5M

Real Madrid is the only club to have multiple players on this list and is easily the best club to start Career Mode with. Playing in the right wing and capable of being the reference striker in critical moments is Rodrygo, one of the most versatile offensive players available.

4 stars for Weak Foot and Skills, a Dead Ball PlayStyle, and a potential of 91 are great calling cards. Rodrygo can become an amazing striker with an easy position change, which will turn him into a nightmare for opposing defenders. He starts with an 85 at 22 years old, which should make him a priority signing at the start.

15 Bukayo Saka

Value: €99M

Arsenal's superstar is already one of the best right wings in the game and is only 21 years old at the start of Career Mode. He will continue to dominate for over a decade. Starting with 86, his potential goes up to 90 overall. He can play any attacking position if needed and even come back to the position he started at, full back, if the situation asks for it.

However, he does have a few downsides. Saka has few PlayStyles, and only three stars for both Weak Foot and Skills. The latter can be fixed with some training, or he could just function as a massive sell once he reaches his potential.

14 Florian Wirtz

Value: €101M

Despite the common idea that the classic number 10 role has disappeared in today's game, there are a lot of great young players who excel at that position. Florian Wirtz is one of them. At just 20 years old, he starts with an 85 overall and solid passing and dribbling stats, the basics for an attacking midfielder. He could also play as CM, but his defense stats aren't high enough to make the change permanent.

He has the usual 4 stars for Weak Foot and Skills, but more importantly, he has the Incisive Pass PlayStyle, as well as other interesting ones like first touch and technical. His 91 potential will turn him into an all-time great playmaker.

13 Kevin De Bruyne

Value: €103M

One of the greatest midfielders of the modern era, and one who's aging like a fine wine, it's a testament to De Bruyne's immense quality as a player that he still commands a €100+ million price tag despite being in his 30s. His playmaking skills are one of a kind, and these abilities are reflected in FC 24 as well.

De Bruyne's amazing passing skills mean that players can nail amazing through balls with this player. Essentially, players will spend all this money to get a set number of guaranteed key passes per game. Not a bad deal. He's an amazing player who's in the twilight of his career, and soccer fans should make it a point to watch him play before this opportunity is taken away from them.

12 Pedri

Value: €105M

Pedri is a special talent that will instantly improve almost any midfield. The Spanish CM starts with an 86 overall with the potential to get to a 92. At just 20 years old, he is already one of the best at his position. However, he is tied to his position and his role. He's not versatile, but there is no one better to keep possession and organize the field.

His PlayStyles prove so. He has, as he should, the Tiki Taka PlayStyle+ that combines with regular PlayStyles like Incisive Pass, Long Ball Pass, Forst Touch, or Relentless. The last one is especially important given his High/High work rate, so he doesn't run out of gas. A solid 4-star combo for Weak Foot and Skills makes for a great CM, probably the best choice at that position.

11 Ruben Dias

Value: €106.5M

After signing with Manchester City, everyone expected Ruben Dias to be a monster on defense. Despite a slow start, Ruben has become a first-team player with one of the most stacked squads in Europe, which is saying something. His price tag is justified, given his age and how he's easily one of the best center-backs in Europe right now.

Players who want to bolster their defense with a tried-and-tested option will have to empty their coffers to even stand a chance of signing this amazing player. He may be incredibly expensive, but most players who rack up a bunch of clean sheets with this player will almost consider him a bargain considering what he brings to the table for their team's defense.

10 Martin Odegaard

Value: €109M

Martin Odegaard is a player who couldn't make it with Real Madrid, and a lot of people felt like the weight of his expectations would be too much for this talented midfielder to bear. Thankfully, under Arteta's guidance, this player has become one of the most talented midfielders in Europe, one who can turn the tide of a match by controlling it with his immense soccer IQ and passing skills.

He's a treat on any team, and his age means that he's in his peak years and won't stop generating his scary output anytime soon. Players who decide to blow all their money on trying to sign Odegaard will find this investment to be a worthwhile one, even if the inflated values of the transfer market may leave a bad taste in their mouths in the initial stage after signing this talented player.

9 Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Last year's biggest surprise is now a top player and one of the best wingers in EA FC 24. However, not everyone will be suited to play with him, as he relies more on precise dribbling and passing than pace. Kvaratskhelia is an 86 overall left wing with a massive 92 potential. He is also a rare 5-star combo for Weak Foot and Skills, making him great to play on both sides.

Kvaratskhelia has a lot of PlayStyles, so players might consider turning him into an attacking midfielder or a striker. For more of a passing-oriented role, he has Incisive Pass and Whipped Pass. For finishing, he has Finesse Shot, and for both roles, he can use Trivela. But of course, his dribbling stands out the most with technical, flair, and trickster.

8 Jude Bellingham

Value: €118.5M

Nobody could have predicted the unbelievable start to a season that Bellingham had with Real Madrid. He is a 20-year-old midfielder who can play anywhere besides keeper. He starts with an 86 overall and has solid stats across the board. He has a 91 potential, which is lower than Pedri and Kvaratskhelia, but he more than makes up for it.

He has the usual 4 stars Weak Foot and Skills, but his PlayStyles are something else. He has Relentless as PlayStyle+ with 93 stamina and High/High work rates. This essentially means he will never get tired, and he will be everywhere on the field. If that wasn't enough, he has Intercept and Slide Tackle as a midfielder. He can dominate the game in any way.

7 Harry Kane

Value: €119.5M

Most people who didn't give Kane the credit he deserved are singing a different tune after he lit the Bundesliga on fire. The striker may only be suited for one position, but his overall rating makes it clear that he more than justifies his placement as a team's sole striker.

Goals are guaranteed when players get Kane in a shooting position. His fans can only hope that he finally secures some elusive silverware at Bayern, given how disappointing his career has been at Bayern when it comes to securing trophies.

3 Vinicius Junior

Value: €158.5

Another player known for being a game-breaker in recent years, Vinicius stands at 94. He starts at 89, but he is also two years younger than Mbappe, which makes him a better option for the long term.

The Brazilian superstar also comes with Quick Step PlayStyle+, 5-star Skills, and amazing speed and dribbling. Although his shooting is a little weaker, he has more finishing PlayStyles, such as Finesse Shot and Chip Shot. But what makes the difference is his High/High work rate. This might get risky in terms of stamina but it allows him to play with a variety of tactics.

2 Kylian Mbappe

The French star is already tied for the highest rating in the game, which makes him an almost impossible target to buy in Career Mode. With a 91 overall, there is not much room for growth. Mbappe is 24 years old at the start of the season and has the potential to reach a 94 overall in no time.

In EA FC 24, he's probably the favorite player for those who rely on pace to get past defenders, with a 97 rating in that category. Combined with his 90 shooting and Quick Step PlayStyle+, he is perfect for counterattack football. He also doesn't leave Skills players behind, with his 5-star Skills and 92 Dribbling.

1 Erling Haaland

The cover athlete in EA Sports FC 24 is also the most valuable player in the game. Life changed dramatically for taller and stronger players in FIFA 23 with the introduction of acceleration types. Haaland is the best example of how powerful it can be to have a big, athletic striker. Tied for the highest rating with 91 at just 23 and the potential to reach 94, he is the real deal.

Haaland doesn't require great skills or tactics to show his worth. He's a relentless shot-hunter that will fit any team and any formation. His Acrobatic PlayStyle+ will make sure he gets a shot on target. He has 89 pace, 93 shooting, and 88 physicality. His only downside is his 3-star Weak Foot, which can be improved during Career Mode. He won't dribble past many people because he doesn't need to. Send a long ball his way, and chances are it will end up at the back of the net.
